このサイトでは、ドイツの工学博士で情報という視点から日本での講演をご計画しておられるギット博士の講演会についての情報を提供してまいりたい、と思っております。

ギット博士は、アーヘン工科大学で工学博士を1971年に取得され、それ以降の30年間、情報技術の先端的な研究をされ、ドイツ連邦物理技術研究所で長年にわたり、所長を勤められました。

ギット博士は世界中の各地で、情報について数多くのご公演を行っておられます。情報は私たちの生活のさまざまな面に関係しています。新聞、テレビ、コンピュータ、自動制御装置など、私たちの生活に欠かせないものです。情報は、生命の活動にも欠かせないもので、情報処理をするプログラムが生体内に存在しているのです。

今回の日本公演は、5月30日から6月26日までの期間にわたって日本の各地で予定されており、5月下旬に出版されるギット先生の著書の日本語訳、『はじめに情報ありき』の中でも触れられております情報について、さまざまな観点からご講演していただきます。

原則、入場は無料ですが、一部会場によっては有償の場合もあります。

また、どなたでも参加していただけます。

This page gives information about Prof. Dr. Werner Gitt's lectures in Japan.
Dr. Gitt he received his doctorate in Engineering summa cum laude in 1971 together with the prestigious ‘Borchers Medal’ of the Technical University of Aachen.
In the same year Werner Gitt started his career at the Federal Institute of Physics and Technology (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig,‘PTB’), Brunswick. In 1978 he was promoted to a Director and Professor at the PTB. From 1971 to 2002 he was the Head of ‘Information Technology’.
He has held lectures on related topics at numerous universities worldwide.

Information confronts us in our all day lifes; newspapers, television, computers, automatic control equipments. We cannot think away information in our lives.
Further, information is also essential for living creatures. Activities of all living organisms are controlled by programs comprising information.
This time between May 30 and June 26, 2008 lectures are planned in different locations in Japan. At the end of May, the book "In the Beginning was Information" will be published in Japanese .
Besides a few exceptions, the lectures in Japan will be related to the topic of information.
Usually the lectures are free of charge, if not, please refer to the additional information.
